Of Counsel Attorney Derek Pakiz is the lead trial attorney and litigation supervisor at The Reeves Law Group, a personal injury law firm located in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Pakiz devotes his practice to catastrophic injury cases where his focus is on victims with accident cases involving amputation, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and wrongful death. Mr. Pakiz also specializes in cases involving serious auto accidents such as car accidents, trucking accidents, and Uber accidents. He serves clients throughout the state of California.

Mr. Pakiz has been a licensed attorney for more than 30 years and has practiced personal injury law throughout that time. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in many significant cases, resulting in seven and eight-figure settlements and verdicts. His contribution to The Reeves Law Group as the senior Los Angeles personal injury attorney of the firm has helped recover damages over $250,000,000 for their clients.

Recognized for his accomplishments, Mr. Pakiz was named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers and named one of the 10 Best Personal Injury Attorneys in the US by Newsweek magazine in 2014. He is one of only a select few attorneys to receive a Diplomate distinction from the American Association for Justice.

Active in various professional organizations, Mr. Pakiz is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He also belongs to the Melvin M. Belli Society, an invitation-only organization of trial attorneys who are committed to furthering legal education on an international level.

Mr. Pakiz received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and attained his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. He is certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification.
