Brian Niceswanger is the leader of Evans & Dixon’s Health Care Law Group. He is an experienced trial lawyer having tried dozens and dozens of jury trials in state and federal courts not only in Missouri and Kansas, but in many states across the Country. Mr. Niceswanger's approach to addressing client problems is aggressive, yet planned with client involvement and calculated to optimize results without wasting time and money.

His practice includes multiple facets of health care law, including telemedicine, professional credentialing, state licensure, professional negligence, nursing home, managed care, risk management and contract disputes. In more than two decades of health care practice he has represented institutions, physicians and physician groups, dentists, podiatrists, chiropractors, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and many other health care providers in virtually all branches of health care. Additionally, Mr. Niceswanger’s practice also includes employment law, catastrophic personal injury litigation, products liability and complex litigation including cases arising from explosions and fires. For many years he served as one of the national litigation counsel for one of the largest propane gas distributors in the United States, and he litigated cases in more than two dozen states across the Country.

When he began practicing law, Mr. Niceswanger quickly came to appreciate that trial experience was increasingly difficult for young lawyers to obtain, but crucial to professional development and client service. In an effort to obtain substantial trial experience early on in his practice, he became involved in providing part-time prosecution work for local municipalities where he tried hundreds of cases. He has also served as a pro-tem judge. In recent years, Mr. Niceswanger has increasingly been asked to provide professional negligence and risk management consulting and education services, and has presented to regional and national gatherings of health care providers, groups of attorneys and insurance representatives. In 2013, he was asked to join the faculty at the University of Missouri, Kansas City as an adjunct professor at the School of Dentistry, where he continues teaching classes today. In 2019, Mr. Niceswanger was engaged by the Missouri Dental Association to author columns for the MDA Focus Dental Journal and he presented at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Missouri Dental Association.

While Mr. Niceswanger is currently involved in significant defense of litigation at this point in his career, he still spends time representing plaintiffs in certain high stakes situations. Over the years he has represented both plaintiff and defense interests in lawsuits and obtained verdicts from both sides of the table. Dual experience affords unique insight into the handling of litigation because of the 360 degree perspective it has provided. He has been involved in securing multiple seven figure recoveries by verdict and settlement over the years while representing plaintiffs in a variety of legal matters. For the past decade, Mr. Niceswanger has also been asked to serve as a mediator in civil disputes because of the well-rounded experience he has obtained in his practice.
