Bio

Frank T. Mamat is one of the nation’s preeminent labor law attorneys, and focuses his practice on complex labor issues, with a special focus on union matters, contract negotiations, unfair labor practice litigation, National Labor Relations Board practice, organizing attempts by unions, mass picketing and violence, secondary boycotts and pressure, and Federal and State OSHA matters. Frank is known for his accessibility and responsiveness to clients and considers himself on-call 24/7/365.

Clients come to Frank with their most pressing labor issues. Through the years he has successfully counseled clients on virtually every type of labor matter possible. (See 'Representative Matters' for detailed examples.) In 2012 the Michigan Senate retained Frank to help prepare Michigan's "Right to Work" law.

He is a member of the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers and is annually selected as one of the Top 100 Labor Lawyers in the U.S. by the Labor Relations Institute. Frank is listed in Best Lawyers® in America, Michigan Super Lawyers, dBusiness magazine's Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit, The American Lawyer Top Lawyers, Crain's Detroit Business Best Lawyers, and The American Registry's Top Lawyers in Michigan. He is a member of the National Labor Relations Board's Practice and Procedure Committee for Region 7 (Michigan). Frank also teaches labor law at Wayne State University Law School where he is Adjunct Professor.

Frank also serves on local and national boards of directors where his input on labor and employment issues is highly respected and he is labor counsel for several major employer associations. Frank is a sought after employment attorney in Detroit and around the country and regularly speaks to major trade groups, counsels clients in the construction industry and handles difficult employment, ERISA and OSHA litigation.
