Bio

Gabrielle Lyn D’Alemberte has spent the majority of her 30-year career as a trial attorney, lobbyist, Federal Court mediator, organizational strategist, and political fundraiser.

D’Alemberte is sixth generation Florida lawyer, with a family history in seeking justice.  Her father started CEELI (Central and Eastern Law Institute, which has fondly been dubbed a “peace corps” for lawyers. As such, D’Alemberte’s early introduction to the legal system was through the creation of judicial systems to address the wrongful taking of property and liberties and drafting constitutions for Eastern European countries, with the goal of influencing communism into a more democratic structure.  CEELI has since become the Rule of Law Institute and has expanded through Asia and Africa.

D’Alemberte’s tendencies towards advocacy were a trait she was born with, having a tough act to follow having Chief Justices of the Florida Supreme Court, James B. Whitfield, and the Clerk of the Court in her immediate genealogy. Her father, Talbot “Sandy” D’Alemberte, was the President of the American Bar Association as well as President of Florida State University and left a legacy of changing the world as the expectation that she should follow.

After finishing law school early, D’Alemberte started her career at the heart of our legal system.  D’Alemberte’s first legal job was at the San Quentin Prison, investigating and preparing habeas corpus appeals for death row inmates through the California Appellate Project (CAP).   D’Alemberte had unique opportunities even as a young lawyer and was able to work cohesively as an advocate as well as a lobbyist on behalf of issues that she considered important.  After CAP, she worked in the Attorney General’s Office (Florida) prosecuting tobacco companies and quickly became known in the legal field as a tough litigator.  She also started early on as a County Court, then Circuit Court mediator, then Federal Court mediator for which she has been celebrated and awarded by the Governor of Florida for her work in alternative dispute resolution.

D’Alemberte moved into private practice where she took on cases against Phillip Morris, RJReynolds, Boeing, NASCAR, Bombardier, Carnival Cruises, Hilton, Sandals Resorts, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Publix, Atlantis (Kerzner), Walmart, Jackson Hewitt, Marriott, Costa Concordia, BP Oil, Halliburton, TransUnion, Goodyear, American Airlines and others.

With over 100 jury trials under her belt, D’Alemberte has become one of America’s most celebrated female civil trial lawyers.

A member of the Florida Bar, Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida United States District Courts, D’Alemberte received the Florida Supreme Court Pro Bono Award for her work with the Legal Aid Foundation of Tallahassee, and was honored by the Junior League for her contributions as a SPAC advocate on bullying, domestic violence and child protection issues and given the opportunity to publish for several Governors of Florida or policies such as online gambling and access to courts.  More recently D’Alemberte has been listed in Super Lawyers in aviation for 11 consecutive years, received honors from the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce for her pro bono achievements, and been recognized by Legal Services of Greater Miami for her commitments to the “Together We Must” Campaign.

Most recently, in 2019-2020 D’Alemberte tried her hand at the very top echelon of political positions as the National Operations Director  (SE States) for Presidential Candidate Tom Steyer.  After Steyer withdrew his candidacy, D’Alemberte joined the Biden/Jaime Harrison Coordinated Campaigns and through her position on the legal team of the DNC (Democratic National Committee), she has expanded her practice to elections law and policy maker.

Today, D’Alemberte is the Managing Partner of her boutique trial firm, and she splits her time between Miami and Charleston.  She practices aviation, wrongful death, lass torts, product liability and elections law.
