Bio

Jack Baldwin, a native of Marshall, Texas comes from a tradition rich family of trial lawyers, doctors and Judges.  He received his B.A. of Fine Arts degree from Texas Christian University in 1982.   He received a J.D degree from South Texas College of Law in 1985.   He was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 1985. He is licensed to practice law in both state and federal courts. In 1982 he began clerking for the law firm of Stephens and Associates, LLP in Houston, Texas.  Following graduation from law school he remained in Houston with the Stephens firm. He represented people injured on-the-job, those injured because of the negligence of others or people injured due to defective products.  While in Houston his primary focus was representing Jones Act Seamen injured on the high-seas and those suffering injuries due to defective products.  Mr. Baldwin continued his work with the Stephens firm until 1988 when he returned home to Marshall, Texas.  He joined his father and brother in practice at Baldwin & Baldwin, LLP.   He has remained there for over thirty (30) years.

Mr. Baldwin has earned a reputation as a top trial lawyer during his many years of litigation experience.  He has gained the respect of his peers and the judiciary during that time. He has lectured on the topic of Trial Advocacy to both state and national trial organizations. His firm was a founding member of the Castano Tobacco Litigation Group which was instrumental in the nationwide multi-billion dollar tobacco litigation and resulting settlements. Likewise, the firm has successfully represented thousands of clients injured or killed due to exposure to deadly asbestos containing products, harmful pharmaceuticals and other toxic materials. Mr. Baldwin has won a multitude of jury verdicts and settlements in excess of one‐million‐dollars. He has achieved  Martindale Hubbles’ esteemed “AV” rating.  He was selected a Texas Rising Star in 1998 and a Texas Super Lawyer from 2010 - 2015.

Mr. Baldwin’s practice continues to revolve around representing individuals in wrongful death and serious personal injury actions.  He additionally assists inventors and corporations in business disputes and protecting their intellectual property.
