Bio

James A. Kee, Jr. (Jim) was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1958 and raised in Decatur, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While attending Auburn, Mr. Kee was selected for membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa honorary society. Upon graduation from Auburn, he worked in the consulting section of Arthur Andersen in Atlanta.

Mr. Kee graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1985. While at Cumberland, he was an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law Review. Following law school, Mr. Kee has practiced in Birmingham for the past 35 years.

Mr. Kee’s practice is primarily in the area of civil litigation with an emphasis in insurance and corporate defense. He specializes in construction litigation (residential and commercial) and insurance coverage analysis/litigation as well as the defense of a variety of personal injury claims (products liability, construction accidents, automobile accidents and premises liability). His litigation work includes significant state, federal and appellate court practice.

Jim has been married 35 years to his wife Vera, a 1983 graduate of Florida State and 1986 graduate of Cumberland School of Law. They have two grown children, Sarah Chase and Becca and are the proud grandparents of Zoey and Ella, their three and one year old granddaughters. Jim attends Church of the Highlands in Birmingham and is involved in JH Ranch and its ministries.
