Bio

Pamela Slate graduated from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1993, after receiving degrees in mathematics and mechanical engineering from Birmingham-Southern College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has for over 20 years represented regional and national health plans in Healthcare Cost Recovery matters, from serving as lead class counsel in antitrust class actions to recover overpayments for pharmaceutical drugs and other health benefits, to protecting subrogation rights in mass tort personal injury litigation. Outside the Healthcare Cost Recovery area, Pamela's other experience includes representing the Alabama Department of Revenue in class actions and over 800 individual actions by corporations related to the constitutionality of franchise taxes; defending health plans in antitrust and RICO class actions by providers and subscribers; and serving as lead class counsel for participants in an ERISA Employee Stock Ownership Plan in a case involving the valuation of the ESOP's privately-held stock.
