Mr. DeWeese founded the Oregon Cannabis Law Group in 2014 and merged with Green Light Law Group in 2019. He has long been on the forefront of the novel legal issues concerning the emerging cannabis industry. Mr. DeWeese has a reputation in the cannabis industry as the go-to legal counsel for businesses in true crisis situations and is highly sought after for his reliable legal judgment in emergency and high-pressure situations. Mr. DeWeese and the team of litigation attorneys at Green Light have consistently demonstrated their legal prowess and creativity when facing incredibly difficult factual scenarios and have repeatedly obtained the best possible outcome for their client. For example, Mr. DeWeese led the Green Light Law Group legal team that prevailed against the Oregon Liquor Control Commission in the Oregon Court of Appeals, striking down Oregon’s short-lived ban on flavored cannabis vape products and saving a dozen or more processing companies and their workers’ livelihoods. Mr. DeWeese and the team are also frequently called on an emergency basis to obtain provisional process, such as temporary restraining orders or other injunctive relief, and specialize in tackling situations in which a significant volume of data and documents must quickly be distilled into key evidence and arguments which will compel a court to act on an expedited basis.

Andrew was born and raised in Port Townsend, Washington. He graduated cum laude in 2008 from the University of Miami School of Law, and practiced law in Miami, Florida until he moved to Portland in 2013. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree and a Performer Diploma from the Indiana University School of Music and was formerly a professional-caliber orchestral violist who has toured throughout Europe and the Americas.
