Bio

Phillip A. Tatlow graduated from law school at St. Louis University in 1991 after receiving his BA in Criminology and Psychology in 1986 from the University of Missouri. He graduated from St. Louis University Law School in 1991. The son of a Father who was a well known small town, trial attorney and a Mother who was a short story author, Mr. Tatlow struck off on his own to practice law in St. Louis following law school, instead of returning to his small town to practice law. He started as a law clerk at a local firm and ended up as the President of the firm doing a number of areas of litigation, including real estate, personal injury, civil rights and fraud cases. Mr. Tatlow built his practice at his first firm to include many cases for the working men and women of our City including many Anheuser Busch brewery workers (bottlers and brewers), workers from Metal Container Corporation, sheet metal workers and pipe fitters. He handled several notable cases at a relatively young age such as a seven figure medical malpractice wrongful death case, a seven figure legal malpractice case, a multi million dollar recovery against Great West Insurance Company and Anheuser Busch, for fraudulent claims practices in the administration and denial of many ERISA life insurance policies for Anheuser Busch workers. Since that time he has recovered a large multi-million dollar recovery for a worker’s family who died in an underground confined space against the construction company, the safety company and painting company who all violated OSHA. He has been successful in several cases obtaining seven figure amounts for people injured in automobile or trucking wrecks who suffered mild traumatic brain injuries, broken bones and herniated discs. He has successfully handled numerous automobile and trucking litigation cases. In the past ten years, Mr. Tatlow has also been doing more ERISA litigation cases for people who are denied their long term disability and life insurance. He handles these cases for Union members, for trial attorneys, for orthopedic surgeons, for insurance company representatives and other workers who have such policies. Mr. Tatlow also took on the City of St. Louis and police officers in a civil rights case in 2016 and his client was awarded &785,000 total damages including $600,000 in compensatory damages and $185,000 in attorney’s fees and costs. He also handles worker’s compensation cases against many large companies such as Anheuser Busch, Metal Container Corporation, Boeing, Mallinckrodt and Federal Express, for workers that are injured in occupational or traumatic injuries. Mr. Tatlow is licensed in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. He is a designated as a Super Lawyer in Personal Injury and ERISA law, a member of America’s (Missouri) Top 100 Attorneys, has the highest possible rating of a 10.0 with AVVO rating and is rated superior or AV by Martindale Hubbell.
