Bio

Prior to establishing the ARTEMiS Law Firm, Victoria was in private practice with Jaburg|Wilk, P.C. where she practiced in the areas of commercial litigation and employment law. She also represented clients in healthcare matters both before the state and federal courts as well as in administrative proceedings before the medical board, nursing board, and physical therapy board.

Before practicing law, Victoria Ames served as Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Foundation International. There, she guided the organization’s international expansion efforts in over 30 countries and oversaw operations of the international headquarters in the USA ensuring that all eligible children with life-threatening illnesses around the world had an opportunity to fulfill their life-long wish.

For nearly 25 years, Victoria has advocated for the rights of those with special needs and believes strongly that those with physical, developmental, and mental health challenges should have the legal support and community resources to deal with these disabilities. Her dedication to improving the lives of families faced with special needs is deeply rooted in her own experience as a parent of children with special needs.

Victoria Ames serves on the Board of Directors of David’s Hope, Arizona’s Mental Health and Criminal Justice Coalition, an organization organized to promote and secure treatment for those with mental health disorders and addictions through increasing collaboration between our mental health and criminal justice system. She also serves on the American Bar Association Advisory Panel, is a member of the Special Olympics Advocacy Resource (SOAR) Program Committee, and volunteers with the Maricopa County Volunteer Lawyers Program.

In addition to private practice, Victoria Ames directs the Arizona State University | Sandra Day O’Connor College of Legal Services Program, which provides free legal services to those unable to otherwise obtain legal assistance in various practice areas, teaching law students how to put their legal education to work in real-life situations. As part of her work with the College of Law, Victoria also supervises students in pro bono projects providing free legal consultations through the Medical-Legal Partnership and the Elder Law, Special Needs, and Mental Health Legal Assistance Program.
